đ§ SYNOPSIS:
âTwo parents and their recently-bitten-werewolf daughter try to fit into a privileged New England society of magic aristocracy. But deadly terrors await themâancient prophecies, remorseless magical trials, hidden conspiracies, and the PTA bake sale.
When Vivianâs kindergartner, Aria, gets bitten by a werewolf, she is rapidly inducted into the hidden community of magical schools. Reeling from their sudden move, Vivian finds herself having to pick the right sacrificial dagger for Aria, keep stocked up on chew toys, and play PTA politics with sirens and chthonic nymphs and people who literally can set her hair on fire.
As Vivian careens from hellhounds in the school corridors to demons at the talent show, she races to keep up with all the arcane secrets of her new societyâshops only accessible by magic portal, the brutal Trials to enter high school, and the eternal inferno that is the parentsâ WhatsApp group.
And looming over everything is a prophecy of doom that sounds suspiciously like itâs about Aria. Vivian might be facing the end of days, just as soon as she can get her daughter dressed and out of the door...â
đŹTHE VIBE:
This one gave me Desperate Housewives meets Harry Potter energy. Suburban chaos, magical politics, and plenty of PTA drama. Itâs witty, weird, and a little unhinged in the best way.
That said, I found myself wondering if this was meant to be adult fantasy or YA. The tone shifted often, which made it tough to settle in. Still, itâs funny, fast-paced, and entertaining.
đĄSTANDOUT ELEMENTS:
Megan Tusingâs narration is excellentâŚshe nails the humor, the pacing, and the chaos. The humor is both clever and relatable for anyone whoâs ever dealt with school politics. The pacing works well; it never drags.
đ§ WHAT STUCK:
The concept itself, a magical PTA full of parents juggling demons and deadlines, is brilliant. Rozakisâs writing is strong, and the audiobook flows well. It reminded me that fantasy doesnât always have to be epic; sometimes, itâs about surviving the next parent meeting. And grateful that my son does not have magical powers because I simply could NOT deal with these parents.
đWHAT DIDNâT WORK FOR ME:
It never quite decided who its audience was. That wobble made the tone feel uneven, but the writing and narration carried it through.
đ¤IF YOU LIKE:
Humor mixed with monsters
Fast-paced, light fantasy
Suburban satire with a magical twist
đ ââď¸IF YOU DONâT LIKE:
Genre mash-ups that blur audience lines
Fantasy that leans quirky over dark
Stories that rely more on tone than deep lore
â
FINAL VERDICT:
The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association is a fun, fast, and funny suburban fantasy. Itâs smartly written and well-narrated.
If you like your fantasy on the lighter side, with humor, heart, and a touch of PTA panic, this oneâs worth your time.

HmmmâŚmight have to add this to the pile.
