Hey Nerds!
Just a quick update to let you know I’m changing up the format of this blog…as it pertains to emails - for your sake and sanity.
I’m very aware that I read a lot of books (and listen to even more), and getting a full review email every single time I finish one might feel a wee bit overwhelming. Like you’re falling behind just by opening your inbox. No one needs that kind of bookish guilt.
💌 Here’s the new plan:
I’ll still be posting all of my reviews here on Substack, but they won’t automatically get emailed out.
Instead, every Sunday, I’ll send one weekly email with links to all the reviews I posted that week.
That way, you can browse at your leisure, catch up when you want, and never feel buried in book content.
Emails will still go out anytime I post a regular, non-review blog post…things like reading thoughts, bookish deep dives, and maybe a few personal ramblings.
🤔 What do you think?
Would you rather keep getting every review as it happens, or is the Sunday "digest" format more your speed? I’d love to hear your thoughts…reply, comment, or DM me!
📸 Let’s hang out on Instagram
If you’re not already following along, come join me: @NerdyNerdyBookBook.
I’ve been posting there for years, but mostly just book covers, ratings, and which number book it was for me. When people asked for recommendations, I often couldn’t remember why I loved (or didn’t love) a book…and that’s what inspired this blog: quick, concise reviews with better receipts.
✨ What’s next?
In addition to reviews, I’ll be writing about all kinds of bookish things such as reading habits, favorite bookstores, quirky TBR rituals, and more.
I’m also toying with the idea of a once-a-month virtual book chat. Would you show up for that? Let me know in the comments!
🎂 A little birthday ask...
My birthday is this Sunday, and if you’re in the giving spirit, the best gift would be to share this blog with your fellow book nerds. Forward it to a friend, post it to your stories, or whisper it to your book club over wine.
As always, I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s read.
